Bed Bug Treatment Cost Estimator

The estimate is built in three steps. Step A multiplies your size — rooms or square footage — by the method's low and high rate to get a base band. Step B adds the line items: furniture is per piece, while the follow-up visit and inspection are flat amounts added once. Step C positions a single "typical" point inside the finished band.

Severity is a band selector, not a multiplier. No source publishes a severity coefficient, so we never multiply the band by an invented number. Instead severity moves the typical point: Mild reads the band's low end, Moderate its midpoint, Severe its high end. The full band is always shown.

Default rate and add-on bands are the verified Fixr method matrix — heat $100–$500/room ($1–$3/sq ft), chemical $200–$600/room ($2–$4.50/sq ft), furniture $50–$150/piece, follow-up $75–$200, inspection $50–$200. They are national illustrative figures; published costs vary widely, so edit them to match your market. Worked example: 2 rooms, heat, moderate, + follow-up → base $200–$1,000, + follow-up $75–$200 → total $275 – $1,200, typical $738.

Formula: total = size × rate(method) + furniture + follow-up + inspection · point = low + severity × (high − low)
