Flat Rate Price Book Template
Free flat-rate price book template (Excel): a reusable service menu that prices every line from your own labor rate and target margin, with good/better/best tiers. No signup.
How this template works
Every price in the menu is computed from two things you set once: your labor rate and your pricing model. Switch the model to change how the Standard price is derived:
cost-plus Standard = Item cost + Labor rate × Hours
margin-target Standard = ROUND( (Item cost + Rate × Hours + Overhead × Hours) / (1 − margin), 0 )
After-hours cost-plus: Item cost + After-hours rate × Hours + Surcharge
margin-target: same cost ÷ (1 − margin), rounded
Good = Standard (the base tier)
Better = ROUND( Good × Better-multiplier, 0 ) e.g. × 1.5
Best = ROUND( Good × Best-multiplier, 0 ) e.g. × 2.0 (always ≥ Better) Margin-target (the default) prices each line to hit your chosen gross margin — the model that protects your profit. Cost-plus is the simpler "cost + rate × hours" mechanic. The target margin shown (55%) is a typical HVAC starting point, not a rule and not a guaranteed rate — adjust it to your own market.
A price book is a menu, so there is no grand total — just a per-line price you quote at the door. The tax field is informational only: a price book lists pre-tax prices; tax is added later, on the invoice. Nothing you type is saved — there is no customer database, no job history, and no stored menu.
