How this is calculated

The headline is one honest division: a bottle holds a fixed number of fluid ounces, and your dilution rate says how many ounces go into each finished gallon — so the gallons a bottle makes is just bottle ÷ rate. Everything else builds on that.

trench rule (label):  gallons = (LF / 10) × 4 × depth_ft     (180/10 × 4 = 72 gal)
coverage (inverted):  LF = (finished gal / (4 × depth_ft)) × 10

for a job (perimeter): job_gal   = (job_LF / 10) × 4 × depth_ft + piers × 2
                       bottles   = ceil(job_gal / finished gal/bottle)
                       cases     = ceil(bottles / bottles_per_case)
                       leftover  = bottles × gal/bottle − job_gal  (never below 0)

The trench rate — 4 gallons per 10 linear feet per foot of depth (0.4 gal/LF/ft) — and the ~2 gal/pier allowance are confirmed from PCT Online's published trench method (its own worked example: 180 ÷ 10 × 4 = 72 gal). Bottles and cases always round up — you can't buy a fraction of a bottle.

The dilution rate is provisional, not gospel. The seed table — 0.06 % ≈ 0.8, 0.09 % ≈ 1.2, 0.125 % ≈ 1.6 fl oz/gal — is a market-standard illustrative default (DIY Pest Control, Tierra Supply), not a label-verified constant. It is fully editable: change the rate to match the EPA-registered label on the bottle in your hand. The same arithmetic serves fipronil (Termidor, Taurus) and bifenthrin (Bifen I/T) — no brand is baked in. "fl oz" here means US fluid ounces (volume), and "gal" means US gallons (128 fl oz), not weight ounces or imperial gallons.
