How this is calculated
The calculator divides your building perimeter by the station spacing and rounds up, so no gap ever exceeds the spacing. The spacing default comes from the pest type — mouse 15 ft, rat 25 ft, termite 10 ft — and you can override it for your product label or a commercial program. An optional interior allocation adds one station per density block.

The round-up (ceil) is applied to each term independently,
then summed — flooring or rounding after the sum would leave an oversized
gap. Spacing defaults follow nailthequote.com (mouse, rat) and termitehq.com
(termite 10 ft, up to 20 ft); the 1-per-1,000-sq-ft interior density follows
nailthequote.com. Spacing is clamped to a plausible 5–120 ft range.
Fixed-interval spacing is an industry rule of thumb, not a placement rule. The NPMA notes assessment-based (activity-driven) placement outperforms a flat interval, and exterior rodenticide bait-station requirements (tamper- resistant / restricted-use) vary by jurisdiction. Treat this as a starting count and ordering aid; your EPA-registered product label and local rules govern actual placement.
