Mosquito Misting Nozzle Planner

Turn a measured yard perimeter and a nozzle spacing into a nozzle count, pump zones, zone kits, and a tubing estimate — equipment sizing for a perimeter mosquito misting system. No login.

Yard

Walk or map the line your nozzles will follow — fence lines, the back of the house, the property edge. Add patio/pergola runs in the next field.

Runs that aren't on the lot perimeter — a detached patio, pergola, or a planting bed you also want misted.

Nozzle spacing

Conical mist projects ~8–10 ft, so 10–15 ft spacing overlaps. Tighten toward 8 ft in dense vegetation; loosen toward 15 ft on open runs.

Advanced — pump capacity & supply lead

One pump typically drives ~80 nozzles per zone (MistAway Gen3+). Other pumps differ — check your pump's spec.

The lead run from the pump to the start of the nozzle circuit. Added to the tubing estimate.

Budget (optional)

Rough budgeting only — installed nozzles run about $8–$15 each. Not a quote.

Recommended nozzle count

Enter your yard perimeter and a nozzle spacing to see how many nozzles, pump zones, and how much tubing you need.

How this is calculated

In Perimeter mode the nozzle count is the run your nozzles follow (yard perimeter plus any extra patio/pergola runs) divided by the spacing, rounded up so the whole perimeter is covered. Pump zones come from your pump's per-zone ceiling; each zone beyond the first is one zone kit (the kit "doubles capacity"). Tubing is the path length plus the supply lead, rounded to the nearest 5 ft. Lot size mode is a coarser acre-bracket fallback for when you have no perimeter — it gives a nozzle count and zones only, no tubing.

nozzles   = ceil((perimeter + extra runs) / spacing)
zones     = ceil(nozzles / nozzles-per-zone)     // default 80
zone kits = max(0, zones − 1)
tubing    = round(perimeter + extra + supply lead, 5 ft)   // Perimeter mode only

lot-size fallback (no perimeter):
  acres   = lot sq ft / 43,560
  nozzles ≈ bracket(acres)   // ¼ ac ≈ 20, ½ ac ≈ 30, full acre ≈ 40+

cost band (advisory, opt-in):
  low  = nozzles × $8     high = nozzles × $15
  point = nozzles × your $/nozzle

Spacing follows Tuxedo and PestControlPricing.com ("10 to 15 feet apart"; conical mist "projects 8 to 10 feet from the nozzle tip"). The acre brackets are PestControlPricing.com's quarter/half/full-acre tiers. The ~80 nozzles/zone ceiling is the MistAway Gen3+ confirmed figure — other pumps differ, so the field is editable; check your pump's spec. We deliberately do not assert any per-zone tubing maximum (the "75 nozzles / 750 ft" figure was unsourced and is omitted), and the install-cost band is advisory budgeting only, never a quote. This is a layout estimate, not an engineered hydraulic design.
