Pool Opening & Closing Checklist Generator

This is a fill-in seasonal SOP, not a calculator — there is no dosing math and no computed result. Pick Closing (winterize) or Opening and the whole step list regenerates: closing builds the winterize sequence (balance → clean → winter chemicals → lower water → drain → blow lines → antifreeze → plugs → cover → store); opening builds the spring start-up sequence (remove cover → reinstall → prime → top up → inspect → clean → test & balance → backwash → note repairs).

Inground keeps the line blow-out and antifreeze steps and covers with water bags filled 50–67% for ice expansion; above-ground drops those two steps and swaps the cover step to a cable & winch with an air pillow. Salt adds a salinity row to the pre-work targets; the rest of the bands are the same.

The pre-work targets (pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, free chlorine, plus CYA on opening and salinity on salt pools) ship as typical, editable defaults — edit any cell to your pool. They are a starting reference, not a compliance standard; follow the product label. Closing brings free chlorine to a shock level per the label before covering — not a computed dose.

The chemical-kit rows are free text and are never deducted from inventory. If you add a unit price, the sheet shows an optional estimated materials cost (this job) — a stateless display courtesy, never an invoice. Nothing you enter is saved; the signature line is a record of work performed, not a warranty, contract, or compliance record.

The sheet lists the steps; three other pages carry the numbers around it. The actual pre-work doses are computed on the pool chemical dosing calculator against your measured volume and the label in front of you, and the season's readings are tracked on the pool water chemistry log rather than on this one-visit sheet.

Turning the checklist into money is a separate step again.
