Ceramic Coating Pricing Calculator
Price a ceramic coating job from your own numbers: paint correction stage, product cost per bottle, layers, labor rate, a durability tier package, and a maintenance-wash plan.
How this is calculated
The quote is built from correction labor, coating labor, product cost, and a markup, then optionally a maintenance-wash plan.
correctionHrs = correctionHours x classMultiplier
coatingHrs = hoursPerLayer x layers x classMultiplier
totalLabor = (correctionHrs + coatingHrs) x laborRate
bottles = bottlesPerVehicle x layers
productCost = bottles x costPerBottle
costSubtotal = totalLabor + productCost
markup = costSubtotal x markupPct
subtotal = costSubtotal + markup
jobExTax = max(subtotal, jobMinimum)
tax = jobExTax x taxRate
maintenance = visits x pricePerVisit
firstYear = jobExTax + maintenance No price presets anywhere. Every currency field starts empty. The pre-filled starting points are the correction hours (seeded by the stage selector), the per-layer coating hours, the bottles per vehicle (seeded by the class selector), layers (starting at 1), and the markup (starting at 50%). All sit in editable boxes and are a starting point, not a benchmark.

What this prices, and what it deliberately does not
A ceramic coating job is more than the line on the auto-detailing pricing calculator, which carries a single “Ceramic Coating (entry-level, 1 layer)” preset at 4.0 labor hours with zero supply cost. That preset is a starting line for the general detailing menu. This tool prices the job a coating customer actually buys: the paint correction that precedes the coating, the product cost per bottle by vehicle class, layers, a durability tier as a named package, and the maintenance-wash plan sold after.
The tool does not recommend a coating product, specify a cure time, or advise on surface preparation chemistry. What it offers is the pricing structure, with every money field blank until you fill it from your own job costing.
Correction stage drives the labor line
Paint correction is the single largest time line on a ceramic coating job. A 1-step correction (light swirls) takes substantially fewer hours than a 3-step correction (heavy defects), and the vehicle class multiplies every hour. The calculator seeds editable starting hours per stage, scales them by class, and shows you what the correction costs in labor before the coating even starts.
If you do not yet have a labor rate, the auto-detailing pricing calculator walks through the cost build-up for a full service menu.
The maintenance plan is the recurring revenue line
Most coating operators sell a maintenance-wash plan alongside the coating job: a set number of visits per year at a per-visit price. The calculator keeps this as a separate block so you can see what the coating job earns on its own and what the plan adds to first-year revenue. If your market expects the first year of washes included, raise the markup and leave the plan visits at zero.
For the insurance side of the business, the auto-detailing business insurance guide covers the liability and property coverage a coating shop carries.
